At the very centre of the Young Health Programme is our belief that young people should be heard and engaged with when seeking solutions that promote their health and wellbeing. We have worked alongside them to ensure local commitments to health facilities are delivered; to include their perspectives in national policy-making; and to advocate for more youth-friendly policies on the global stage.
We are working to equip even more young people to make an impact for good through our partnership with One Young World. Each year the OYW Summit brings together thousands of the brightest young minds to share ideas, build networks and learn from some of the world’s greatest influencers, opinion-formers and communicators. In 2019 the Summit will be held in London, United Kingdom from 22-25 October.
This is our third annual Young Health Programme Scholarship for One Young World and this year, we have 25 spots available for young change makers working in the field of health to attend the One Young World Summit. It’s a truly competitive process as we receive more than 2,000 applications each year.
We are looking for young people, age 19 to 30, who are actively working to improve youth health - and especially for those working to reduce harmful activities such as tobacco smoking, alcohol misuse, poor diet, physical inactivity and exposure to air pollution. Check out some of our past scholars to get a sense of the work they do.
